CPD's are well known for their iridescent blue and green spots that resemble a galaxy, also giving them the nickname of galaxy rasboras. The contrasting golden-yellow hue of their bodies add to their visual appear, making them stand out in any community aquarium they are apart of. Originating from rice paddies and streams of Southeast Asia, specifically Myanmar, these stunning fish thrive in environments of dense vegetation. Their natural habitat consists of slow-moving water with lots of plants, which provide hiding spots and breeding grounds for the fish.
Celestial Pearl Danio Care
Tank Requirements
It is recommended to provide a school of 6 CPD's with a 10 gallon aquarium. In their natural habitat, these freshwater fish live in groups. To keep these fish happy and healthier it is encouraged to keep a minimum of 6 of them together. Celestial pearl danios thrive in water temperatures ranging from 72-78°F. Good and proper filtration is needed for these fish to truly shine, if these fish are not provided with clean, well-balanced water they will not show coloration to their full potential. CPD's also enjoy slow-moving water, so be cautious of filtration with strong flow or currents.

- High-quality flake food

- Frozen or live foods such as daphnia, bloodworms, or brine shrimp
A well-balanced diet will improve their natural coloration and overall health.

Breeding celestial pearl danios can be a rewarding experience. To encourage spawning:
- Condition the Fish: Provide a varied diet and ensure good water quality.
- Setup: Use a separate breeding tank with fine-leaved plants or spawning mops where eggs can be laid.
